The Best of Friends

I've been friends with Lizzie in SL for about 5 years now.  She's been with her partner, Volf, for 3 1/2 years -- that's pretty remarkable by SL standards, and their relationship carries over into their real lives as well.  Is this a fairytale romance?  Not in the least -- it's exactly like any serious relationship, with ups & downs, good times & troubled times.  But it is sincere and enduring, based on a true desire to work out any differences that crop up & to make each other as happy as possible.  They are a great couple to spend time with -- I love to listen to their good natured bantering with each other, and hear the level of comfort they share together.

She's always been a supportive and loyal friend, and just flat out fun to be around.  I know I can depend on her when I need a friend, and likewise she knows the same of me.  We carry each other through the hard times, but mostly spend a lot of time just chatting and laughing together.  Although I barely knew Volf until the last year, he has turned out to be a great friend to me as well.  He's always ready to lend an ear and give support when needed, and has one of the best senses of humor I've ever run across.  I adore that I can join in with Lizzie and tease Volf without fear of giving offense.

I was extremely pleased when they asked me to take a photograph of them as a couple, and even more so when they agreed to let me share, not only the picture, but a little about their relationship with my readers.  These two have made all the difference in my SL.  I love that we can spend hours doing absolutely nothing whatsoever & never running out of conversation, or goofing off, filling an entire evening with laughter.  And best of all, I know that I am accepted for exactly who I am, flaws & all -- and they know I feel the same about them.  We can all be just who we are without concern of judgement -- the best of friends indeed!
